Hello, and Welcome to the 2008 Larimer County Fair & Rodeo!
I hope that everyone is ready
for another exciting year. Allow me to introduce myself, as your 2008 Larimer County Fair and Rodeo Queen, Pelar Conaway.
I am thrilled to be here and involved with one of the best
fairs and rodeos in Colorado.

I am sure that the 4-H members are ready for this time, knowing that their hard work is going to pay off. Good luck and great job with all of your projects. I have been involved in 4-H for ten years and this will be a bittersweet fair for me, because it will be my last as a 4-H member and as the ambassador of Larimer County. Still, as I am also an exhibitor this year, I hope to see everyone smiling and having fun throughout the week.

This year I have had the honor of representing our great county's fair and rodeo with Keaton. We have traveled many miles to various parades, rodeos, community functions, and I have made so many memories along the way. I am so proud to represent such a strong county and its wonderful people. During the past two years I have created memories to last a lifetime and am grateful that one of my dreams came true.

I am the eighteen-year-old daughter of Wes and Rachel Conaway and I am the second youngest of five children, residing in Loveland. Throughout the year I barrel race my Palomino Quarter Horse, Peppy's Macadamia otherwise known as Moca. When not at a rodeo or riding my horse I enjoy photography, reading, and spending time with family and friends.

I attended Thompson Valley High School as a senior and was an honors student carrying a 4.0 GPA. I was involved with the National Honors Society and was also an editor for our yearbook, which kept me busy throughout the year. Now that I have graduated, in the fall I will be attending the University of Wyoming in Laramie, majoring in Health Sciences as a Pre-Medicine major.

I would like to send my sincerest thanks to all my family and friends for their unconditional support, the Larimer County Fair Board for the opportunity, the Queen's Committee for their hard work, the Ranch staff for helping me with my fundraisers and the fair volunteers for making the fair possible. To the 2008 Queen's sponsors I would not have been able to do it without you and you are greatly appreciated. Thank you to everyone for allowing me to have the honor of representing our great county and the western way of life.

I am glad that you all decided to come to the 2008 Larimer County Fair & Rodeo. I am sure that you are going to have a wonderful time and enjoy!

Howdy! Welcome to the 2008 Larimer County Fair & Rodeo. This legendary celebration of
our history and the western
way of life has been a tradition
for many years, and continues
to be one of the most exciting and unique home-town attractions around.

My name is Keaton Ramm, and
I am your Larimer County Fair & Rodeo Lady-in-Waiting for 2008. I have spent my 17 years living within biking distance of those purple mountain majesties, and I am currently a thriving junior at Thompson Valley High School here in Loveland.

In the past year, Pelar and I have done so much, it is impossible to tell you all here. The countless events include rodeos, banquets, parades, and even benefit auctions, all of which we have attended in our catchy Larimer County "blues." We have developed life-long skills, and discovered a rewarding friendship along the way. I could not thank you and your family enough, Pelar, for the endless support and guidance you have given me. I wish you the best in your hopes and endeavors, and I trust that you have and will continue to succeed beyond all expectations.

On the note of appreciations, I must give well deserved justice to all of the Fair Board members, for organizing and establishing this phenomenal event. Also to the staff at the Ranch, for all the wonderful opportunities they made possible, and to everyone (including you!) whom, without their continued support and attendance, this event would be lost.

As for my story, I have always loved the Fair & Rodeo. I am an eight year member of the Desperados 4-H club, and have been competing at fair for as long as I can remember. I've tangled in horse, sheep, swine, knitting, sewing, shooting-sports, veterinary science, and various other projects, so I understand the hard work that 4-Hers put into their projects all year long. Congratulations to you all for making it to fair, and best of luck!

I live with my mother, Kate, and my younger brother, Ethan here in Loveland, Colorado. With my high-school years zipping by in a flash, I try to take hold of every opportunity. More often than not this leads to a full calendar and probably less sleep than is generally suggested, but I wouldn't trade it for the world. I am a leader on the TVHS Cross-Country and state Swimming teams, as well as the junior class representative in Student Council. I uphold my 3.9 GPA while taking multiple college and honors level classes. This achievement qualified me for induction into the National Honor Society this year. In which I serve on various community service committees. These projects per say, are part of my master plan to prepare for medical school in the future, fulfilling the dream, "when I grow up, I want to be a Doctor." But I used to want to be a horse...

I live, dream, and breathe horses. I have been riding since before I could walk, and I don't plan on stopping anytime soon. I ride under every discipline, from barrel racing to hunter jumpers and everything in between. Zippo Pine Blossom, aka. "Blossom" and I have been a team for five years now, and I couldn't ask for a better friend. She was my first real horse, aside from ponies, and I have trained her since she was three. She is a show horse, but don't let that fool you! She can chase a cow as good as any, and she loves to kick up her heels and run like there's no tomorrow.

Once again, my salutation goes out to you and your family, as I invite you to stay a while. Kick up your heels, pull down your hat, and grab your partner, its Fair time!
