LARIMER COUNTY FAIR AND RODEO IS ‘HOME GROWN’ IN 2010

FAIR BOARD ANNOUNCES 2010 EVENT THEME AND DATES
AT THE RANCH IN LOVELAND

Loveland, CO – The Larimer County Fair Board has announced the new theme and dates for the event at The Ranch in Loveland. Larimer Country Fair and Rodeo, ‘Home Grown’ will take place August 6 - 10. The Fair opens the gates, free to the public, Friday, August 6 at 4 p.m. and will run through the following Tuesday, August 10.

President of the Larimer County Fair Board, Mike Adams said, “This year’s theme will allow organizers to bring a taste of home to Larimer County residents that attend the fair. We will be
able to tie in various ways of life and traditions in our community such as homegrown farmer’s markets, homespun arts & crafts, home & garden elements, but also celebrate the modern achievements that have ‘grown’ from Larimer County.” The theme’s purpose is to highlight what makes our community sustainable particularly in this economy and to encourage people to ‘think
local and act global’.

The Larimer County Fair and Rodeo saw over 74,000 attendees, its largest attendance ever,
in 2009 in part due to keeping traditional ties and adding new events. The trend looks to be the
same in 2010 as newer events such as Gnarly Barley Brew Fest, Timberworks Lumberjack
Show and Splash Dogs will each being returning and traditional events including: Bill Hames Carnival, PRCA Rodeos, the pancake breakfast, family movie nights, firework displays, and
the multiple 4-H events and exhibits, will be spread throughout the event. More events will
be added to the line-up as the Fair approaches.

The 2010 Larimer County Fair runs from August 6 - 10 at The Ranch in Loveland. Events at this year’s Fair include Gnarly Barley Brew Festival on Saturday, August 7, from 1 p.m. - 6 p.m., Timber Works Lumberjack shows: August 6 - 8, Splash Dogs: August 6-10, PRCA Rodeo: August 8 - 10 and much more.
